Waipa Fun Run - Annual

Sunday 5 March 2023

Cambridge Lifeskills is the chosen charity partner for the St Peter's Catholic Schools PTFA's Waipa Fun Run.

This event is held annually, usually in March, and encourages all Cambridge school students, parents and businesses to take part.

The Cambridge Lifeskills counselling team are on hand that day to help with the marshalling.

Over the last 4 years, Cambridge Lifeskills has received over $2500.00 through the generosity of Waipa Fun Run's committee – and we're truly appreciative.

Lifeskills Day- Annual

Friday 19 November 2021

During November, Lifeskills Counsellors work with schools to fundraise for counselling youth in Cambridge. Each school is responsible for coming up with its own creative event which could be a mufti day, wacky hair day, cycle day etc.

Businesses – you too can hold any fundraising event – shared lunch, multi-colour dress up day, baking cupcakes and selling them – every bit helps. Remember – it takes a village to raise a child.

All funds raised go directly to paying our dedicated professional counsellors at Cambridge Lifeskills so they can provide counselling services for young people in Cambridge.

Cambridge Lifeskills Golf Day - Annual

Friday 19 November 2021

Cambridge Lifeskills has been very fortunate to hold an annual twilight golf fundraising tournament in conjunction with the Cambridge Golf Club.

Cambridge Golf Club has generously sponsored the cost of the course fee.

We thank all the hole sponsors and incredibly generous Cambridge businesses who provided spot prizes and help us to raise funds for counselling young people in Cambridge.

Got an idea or would like to help us fundraise?

We're all ears at Cambridge Lifeskills, so if you've got a great idea for fundraising, or you'd like to volunteer to help with one of our fundraising events – we'd love to have you on board.

Allysia's Ultra 160km run Fundraiser

FEBRUARY 13 - 14 2021

"I started ultra running in 2017 after watching a few friends and family run these crazy long runs. For a reason that is difficult to explain unless you've been there, I found it incredibly motivating."

Running for Lifeskills was a no brainier for me - knowing that our community has the option to provide children with counsellors who can walk with them through their various journeys, empowering our Tamariki to grow and flourish in their environment.  Teaching others that it's okay to ask for help when they most need it.
I started running because I had the health to do it. But it became my own outlet for my mental wellness, part of my self-care. While others find it exhausting, I see it as an opportunity. Raising money for a good cause that's close to my heart, while running 160km, is extra motivation to cross the finish line.
Tarawera Ultramarathon is part of the Ultra Trail World Tour. Distances range from 21km - 100 miles. Based in Rotorua, over 3000 participants will run around lakes, through forests and past waterfalls. The 100mile event took place on February 13 and 14.

Cambridge Lifeskills Easter Egg Hunt

This year we held the Inaugural Easter Egg Hunt at The Boat Shed Cafe.

The team at The Boat Shed Cafe came up with the idea and all funds raised were donated to Cambridge Lifeskills.

With over 350 donated easter eggs the 100+ children who attended went away with a great stash.

We thank the generous sponsors who provided easter eggs, party favours and lollies for the event as well as the staff at the Boat Shed Cafe for your enthusiam on the day.

Good in the Hood

Cambridge Lifeskills was one of the lucky recipients of 'Good in the Hood' at Cambridge Z Service Station.

When you paid for your petrol you were given a chip which you could use to vote for a Cambridge organisation.

Cambridge Lifeskills was the lucky recipient of $645.
Thanks Z
